My name is Emma. 
Welcome to my blog Bloom and Flour! 
A place for beautiful baking with a floral touch.

Bloom and Flour was created out of my two great loves- baking and growing gorgeous blooms.

The majority of my baking includes edible flowers which I grow myself.
I make and bake everything from sweets and cookies, to pastries and little cakes.

I have three chief tasters, my two girls and my hubby, closely followed by the dog who obediently hoovers up all dropped crumbs.

My Gran taught me to bake as soon as I could stand on a chair and watch her without falling off of it, So I guess I would of been about four years old.
She always used a huge porcelain bowl and wooden spoon as she said this way made the best cakes!
To this day I still agree with her, and chose to follow in her footsteps-
Although the electric whisk does come out for meringues!..

I use seasonal ingredients, in spring I create recipes with violets and elderflowers, then in summer its roses. I also grow rhubarb, plums, apples and other fruits and flowers, all of which I use in my baking. I also have a brood of bantam hens who lay the most amazing eggs!
